RETIREMENT AND COMEBACK
After being in retirement for three years, she and Maurizio Margaglio announced their return to competition on September 21, 2005. The pair's last competition was the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City where they won the bronze medal. The lure of a 'home' Olympic Games proved too great for the pair.

"The Olympics are in our country... how could we resist the temptation? We are working at our maximum level, are happy with ourselves as there could be nothing more to do, and the feed back at this stage of our preparation is great, the programs are coming together very well, we have found music we're enthusiast about and we are really, really happy,ö (torino2006.org 21/09/05)

FROM COACH TO RIVAL
While in retirement, Fusar-Poli had been coaching the young Italian ice dancing pair of Alessia Aureli and Andrea Vaturi. (ISU 18/11/05)
